Supreme Makeover - Building Compassion

Who?: Supreme Makeover/Building Compassion, First Assembly of God, The Giddings Community and YOU!

What?: Supreme Makeover project – Home Renovation project for a local Giddings family in tremendous need. - The work has already begun. Goodson -Voight Lumber & Hardware Company and First Assembly of God church contributed to provide the materials to have the home’s foundation leveled, while James Williams House Leveling provided the labor expertise at a reduced rate. Josh Boriack, owner of Area Wide Pro Plumbing, has agreed to donate his labor to address the plumbing needs.

When?: Wednesday, March 13th – Saturday, March 16th, 2013 (Local volunteers will begin preliminary work on Saturday, March 9th)

Where?: The home of Joseph and Angelica Zachary • 493 S. Navarro St • Giddings, TX

How?: By partnering with the Giddings community and networking with local businesses, Supreme Makeover/Building Compassion is organizing a Supreme Makeover project. University students from all over North Texas will be volunteering during their Spring Break.

Why?: To show compassion to a family in need. Compassion is simply “caring enough to do something about someone else’s need.”

Needs?: We can’t do it alone. Someone once described T.E.A.M. as “Together Everyone Accomplishes More!” This has never been more true than with Supreme Makeover projects.

The following is a tentative list of project needs: Insulation, exterior siding, washer and dryer, onsite portable toilets, disposal of demolition materials, cabinets — kitchen & bathroom, water heater — including pans and plumbing, landscaping — plants and edging, furnishings — living, dining, bedroom, bathroom, HVAC unit, including ductwork and vents, storage container — onsite storage for belongings while work is being done.

Materials: plumbing supplies, A/C – HVAC unit with ductwork and vents, bathroom — standup shower unit, roofing — nails, felt paper, shingles, trim — baseboard molding, doorframe molding, drywall supplies — sheetrock, screws, tape, texture, doors — interior and exterior, hinges & doorknob sets, lighting fixtures — lights/fans; lights/vents for bathrooms, paint — caulking, primer, paint (interior/exterior), roller naps, flooring — carpet, including padding and installation; and kitchen tile — including quickset.

Supreme Makeover is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Financial contributions and donated materials are tax-exempt.
