Monthly Support Meeting for Foster Families

There will be a monthly support group for foster families in the Lexington area in early March. The Foster Family Support Group will be offering training to help you get your required training hours, if you are a foster family, or thinking about becoming one.

We will also be offering support to help new families with their first placement, babysitting, provide respite care, and be a helping hand when other foster families in the area have a need.

There are no charges or dues to be a part of the support group, and the support group is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about foster care or adoption.

If you have thought about opening your home to children, but don’t know where to start, then we can help you.

The support group meets the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., unless that day falls on a holiday.

The Foster Family Support Group is accepting donations for their foster care closet. They are in need of baby items - large and small, children’s toys, electronics and children’s clothes and shoes sizes birth to 18 years of age...new or gently used, please.

We will serve light snacks during the meeting, so please bring something that is your favorite.

Please call each month to R.S.V.P. The Foster Family Support Group is sponsored by Jeff and Jamie Cargill. You can call them at 512-273-2957 home or 512-968-0705 cell. If no answer please leave a message with your contact information.

Our next meeting will be March 7, 2013 @ 6:00 p.m.
