In lieu of a column from Dr. McArthur this week, you will find minutes from the Monday Board Meeting, below:

The Lexington ISD Board of Trustees held their regular meeting on Monday, February 18.

The consent agenda, including minutes of the January 28 regular meeting and the February 11 called meeting, the board financial report, and a donation were approved.

The terms of Alan Turner and Russell Iselt are expiring. The election was called for Saturday, May 11. Victor Yurk was appointed election judge and Martin Schubert was appointed alternate judge. Mr. Yurk will appoint two clerks to assist with the election.

The proposed school calendar for the 2013-2014 school year was approved. As is this year, the high school and middle school calendar will be in six weeks periods, and the elementary school calendar will be nine weeks. All holidays will be the same.

Dr. McArthur answered questions on job sharing between school districts.

There was discussion of an oil and gas lease to Venado Oil and Gas for a .9979 acre parcel of land in Doak Springs owned by LISD.

No one was nominated by the board to fill the unexpired term on the Lee Central Appraisal District Board of Directors as a result of the resignation of Ron Jones.

The board agenda for the March meeting was reviewed.

Dr. McArthur reported on the STAAR test results.
