Howard Lee Schultz
Funeral services for Howard Lee Schultz, 67 of Giddings, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert J. Tiner officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 276, followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.
Howard Lee was born on June 21, 1945 in Brenham, Texas, the oldest child of Marguerite and Herbert Schultz.
Howard was educated at Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School, Giddings High School, Blinn College and Sam Houston State University. He joined the United Sates Air Force in April, 1968 and was honorably discharged in April, 1972 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In June, 1972, Howard went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In July, 1974, he married Linda Sue Adams and became the step-father to James Richard Adams, Jr. The happily married couple lived in Huntsville, and in December, 1983, he became the proud father of Holden Lee. Howard worked for TDCJ. retiring in June, 1995. In 1996, he and his family moved back home to his grandfather’s home in Giddings.
Howard Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Fred and Marguerite Schneider Schultz.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Schultz of Giddings, two sons, James Richard Adams, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Virginia, Holden Lee Schultz and Deja Kanuha of Giddings, Sister Bonnie Bea Byrne of Floresville, as well as six grandchildren and seven nieces.
Memorials have been requested to be given to Standards Hospice, Immanuel Lutheran School or the charity of one’s choice.
