Minutes from the Feb. 13 City Council Meeting:

The Lexington City Council met in a regular meeting on Wednesday, February 13th, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., at the Woodson Community Center, 631 N. Rockdale, Lexington, Texas.

Present were Mayor Robert Willrich, Sr., Councilpersons Opal Lewis, Tim Brown, Greg Langehennig, Charlotte Hooper, Chris Billings and City Attorney Michelle Weiser.

Mayor Robert Willrich, Sr. brought the meeting to order and welcomed the guest.

3. There was no citizen input.

4. Tim Brown made the motion to approve the minutes for January 9th & 23rd and February 4th, 2013. Opal Lewis seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

5. Tim Brown made the motion to approve paying the bills for the month of January 2013. Greg Langehennig seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

6. Tim Brown made the motion to allow batting cages to be built by the Lee County Little League next to the new little league baseball field. Opal Lewis seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

7. Tim Brown made the motion to table action on excess noise on Giddings Street until Counsel’s review. Chris Billings seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. One abstained. (Greg Langehennig)

8. Tim Brown made the motion to table action on Clopton Mobile Home located on the corner of Avenue C and Douglass. Greg Langehennig seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

9. Tim Brown made the motion to approve the professional services proposal from BEFCO Engineering, Inc. for 2013 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. Opal Lewis seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

10. Opal Lewis made the motion to go with Verizon for the City’s phone and internet services. Chris Billings seconded the motion. Vote 3 for. Two abstained. (Tim Brown & Greg Langehennig)

11. City Council convened into executive session at 7:10 p.m. pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 551.074 to discuss the employment and evaluation of Officers Dontrell Nurse and Marcos Vivas.

12. City Council reconvened into public session at 7:26 p.m. pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 551.074 to take action on the employment and evaluation of Officers Dontrell Nurse and Marcos Vivas. Tim Brown made the motion to adjust pay for officer as mentioned in executive session. Chris Billings seconded the motion. Vote 5 for.

13. The financial/budget reports were reviewed by the City Council. Chief Yarbrough presented the police report to City Council.

14. Tim Brown made the motion to adjourn. Opal Lewis seconded the motion. Vote 5 for. Adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
