Lady Eagles Travel to Brenham

The Lady Eagle softball team traveled to Brenham Saturday for a double-header scrimmage against Fort Bend and Brenham. The Lady Eagles defeated Fort Bend 10-5. In the second game, however, Brenham defeated the Lady Eagles 5-1.

Coach Bradford used a trio of pitchers in the game, including Bailey Reynolds, Meghann Wrinkle and Courtney Robertson. Coach Bradford said she and her coaching staff are looking at many different combinations of defense, depending on who is pitching.

Outfileders MacKenzie Brown, Mariah Thornton, and Kassie Prew had some solid playing time.

Infielders Tayllor Lagrone, Kristen Boettcher, Meghann Wrinkle, Courtney Robertson, and Bailey Reynolds had a lot of opportunities in game situations to make our infield very promising on giving the team some solid defense.

Right now it is a matter of getting in sync, and learning just how each player covers their position and perfoming during games to their highest potential. The bats looked pretty good and the bunt was executed very well when called upon to do so. We look to being very aggresuve on the bases and at bat.

Coach Bradford stated that the girls have to learn how she does things and she has to learn what the girls are capable of, so the team can be the best it can be in all situations offensively and defensively.
