Eagles Fall to Rosebud-Lott

by Mike Organ

The Lexington Eagles had an off night Tuesday nigt, as they fell to Rosebud-Lott 57-41. No one could hit a three-point shot or a free throw. Zach Lay was the only Eagle doing any good as he drove the basket eight times and converted seven into two or more points. When the Eagles were able to get the ball inside to the post men or a close dish under the basket, the shot would be missed or the pass not caught.

Lay led the Eagles with 18 points, 12 came on driving, twisting, acrobatic lay ups. He scored three deuces in the third and two in the fourth to keep the Eagles competitive until midway through the fourth quarter, when the wheels came off the Lexington offense. Turnovers, bad shot selection, and the ball just not going through the basket were the reason. Eriq Mitchell was the only other Eagle in double figures with 13 points – mainly on trĂ©s.

The loss to Rosebud-Lott puts the Eagles in the position of having to win out to make the play offs.
