Anna Bell McWhorter


Funeral services for Anna McWhorter, 83 of Ledbetter, Texas, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Father James Olnhausen of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Giddings officiating. Graveside services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street in Houston, Texas. Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Mrs. McWhorter passed away the morning of Sunday, February 3, 2013 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange, Texas.

Anna Bell Boudreaux McWhorter was born on July 20, 1929 in Franklin, Louisiana to Claude Joseph & Louise (Boudoin) Boudreaux. She married Charlie McWhorter in 1968. She worked for many years at Kroger’s in Houston. Mrs. McWhorter was always a hardworking individual who enjoyed playing dominoes, listening to music and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charlie McWhorter.

Mrs. McWhorter is survived by her two sons and daughters-inlaw, Roy & Melinda Romine of Humble and Larry & Patricia Bonds of Cypress; four grandchildren, Charles Bonds of Cypress, Leslie Bonds of Cypress, Brandon Bonds of Cypress and Hope McWhorter & Arnold Stevens Jr. of Coldspring; four great grandchildren, Savannah Hill, Michael Hill, Brittany Doyle and Richard Jones all of Coldspring; great, great granddaughter, Karlei Taylor of Coldspring; sister, Jessie Stork of Ledbetter; three brothers and sisters-in-law, C.J. & Irene Boudreaux, Jr. of Houston, Basil J. & Mary Boudreaux of Boston, Massachusetts and Charles A. & Connie Boudreaux of New Caney, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
