Sheriff’s Office Makes Drug Bust
Last Friday, February 8, the Lee County Sheriff ’s Office was conducting an investigation that led to the arrest of two Giddings residents for possession of controlled substances. Oscar Hernandez, 44, and Delia Gonzales, 48, were found to have methamphetamines and marijuana at their residence.
According to the Sheriff ’s report of the incident, officers were conducting an investigation into numerous burglaries in Lee County when they arrived at the residence of Hernandez and Gonzales. Once there, they recovered meth, marijuana, digital scales and numerous drug paraphernalia items, as well as several items believed to have been stolen during recent burglaries.
They were each charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of marijuana, and are facing additional felony charges.
Helping in the investigation were Sheriff Rodney Meyer, Chief Deputy Nathan Lapham, and Deputies Robert Carvin, James Crockett, Stephen Ledenbach and Greg Ayers.
