Lexington Buffaloes Florence 61-46

by Mike Organ

The Lexington Eagles used a 20- 0 skunking of Florence in the second quarter to earn a 61-46 win. The Eagles stopped Florence cold in the second quarter after a lackluster first quarter that Florence won 6-3. The 20-point advantage was impossible for Florence to make up.

Jason Washington and Eriq Mitchell keyed the second quarter barrage, scoring 15 of the 20 points. After halftime, Zach Lay took over scoring on five twisting, acrobatic lay ups. For the Eagles, the usual three point shooting was not working, so attacking the basket was the answer.
