Local REALTOR(r) Foundation Scholarship Application Now Available

College-bound seniors urged to apply for ABoR Foundation Scholarships

AUSTIN, Texas - January 30, 2013 - The Austin Board of REALTORS(r) (ABoR) Foundation is thrilled to announce that applications are now available for the annual scholarship program. Graduating high school seniors and home-schooled students are encouraged to apply to help off-set the cost of higher education.

To be eligible for consideration, students must be citizens of the United States; planning to pursue higher education at a Texas college, university, technical or trade school in the fall of 2013; and a resident of one of the following counties: Travis, Williamson, Lee, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Blanco or Burnet. Applications are available online at www.abor.com/ scholarship and must be mailed or hand-delivered by Friday, March 8 at 5:00 p.m. to Shirley Williams in the ABoR Education Department.

The ABoR Foundation will award 22 scholarships this spring; one scholarship will be awarded to an alumni student to be chosen from the 2012 scholarship recipients. In 2012, the ABoR Foundation awarded over $30,000 in scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. Spread the word to graduating seniors about this opportunity to help fund their higher education.

The ABoR Foundation, representing nearly 9,000 licensed REALTORS(r) in Central Texas, is a charitable organization that provides scholarships, conducts service projects in the community and helps REALTORS(r) and their families in the event of catastrophe. Established in 1952, the ABoR Foundation has awarded more than 300 scholarships to high school seniors to help families put their children through college.
