Salado Doubles Lexington 68-34

by Mike Organ

Salado’s sharpshooters put on a show in the Lexington gym Tuesday night, a week ago. Lexington had an off night shooting, dribbling, and passing the ball.

Fans knew when the first quarter went to Salado 19-7 that things were not going to be good. Compounding the first quarter was a 16-5 advantage for Salado. The halftime score of 35-12 in favor of Salado made the outcome moot.

Making matters worse was the knee injury suffered by Jason Washington, Lexington’s point guard, midway through the fourth quarter. Salado shot 0.565 from the field for the game, while Lexington could only muster 0.231 percentage of shots.

Washington still led Lexington in scoring with 12 points, despite missing half of the fourth quarter.
