Sheriff’s Report

January 21, 2013

A motorist reported an 18- wheeler driving recklessly on Hwy 21 headed west bound from the Hwy 77 intersection. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Ledenbach searched for the truck to the county line and then Bastrop was notified.

Phillips and Luckey funeral home requested assistance on a funeral escort through Lexington. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Ledenbach helped with traffic control for the funeral procession.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female advising that she had pulled over on Hwy 77 North and was not feeling well. She did not want an ambulance to respond. Deputy Ledenbach located the caller and escorted her to a doctor’s office in town.

Deputy Ledenbach responded to a domestic disturbance on CR 135. The complainant stated that her daughter was threatening to harm herself. Everything was ok and a report was taken.

Deputy York searched Hwy 77 for a silver Chevrolet Corvette that was reported to be driving at a high rate of speed and swerving all over the roadway.

January 22, 2013

A complainant reported that her grandson was at her residence on FM 141 in Dime Box and he was causing problems. She had asked him to leave but he refused. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Ledenbach responded and were advised that he had left prior to their arrival.

Dime Box School called and reported a student was making threats. Captain Gonzales and Deputy Ledenbach went to the school and took a report for terrorist threat.

Chief Deputy Lapham was dispatched to a burglary of a residence on PR 1005. A report was taken and investigation continues at this time.

A caller requested a welfare check on his juvenile son that lives with his ex-wife in Lexington. He has made several attempts to call and speak to him but no one answers the phone. Deputy Ledenbach went to the address given and spoke to the child and his mother. The child was fine. The father will be advised.

A motorist reported a horse out on FM 141 approx ½ mile off Hwy 21. Deputy York located the horse and removed it from the roadway.

January 23, 2013

A caller reported that cows were out on CR 309. Deputy Ledenbach located the cows and secured them behind the fence from which they got out.

Captain Gonzales and Deputy Ledenbach spoke to a complainant on CR 440 in Dime Box. She reported that her foster son left their house on foot. The minor was located and transported to the Sheriff’s Office. The foster parents met with deputies and took the juvenile back home.

A complainant reported that she had been receiving threatening phone calls and wanted to file a report. Deputy Crockett took her statement and wrote a harassment report.

January 24, 2013

The Sheriff’s Office was notified that several mailboxes had been knocked down or missing from CR 113. Deputy Ayres spoke to some of the home owners. Deputies will be conducting extra patrol in the area on all shifts.

Deputy Skinner was dispatched to a residence in Lexington along with B&M Ambulance and Lexington EMS. A caller reported a possible deceased person. Justice of the Peace and Phillips & Luckey Funeral home were requested at the scene.

January 25, 2013

Deputy Carvin spoke to a complainant who reported that someone went on his property and messed with his water lines. A report for criminal mischief was taken. Investigation continues on this case.

A first responder reported that he was out on CR 345 with an adult female that tried to overdose on prescription pills last night. Dispatch asked if she needed to send an ambulance and he stated that she was okay and breathing. The first responder requested a deputy because she became violent and threatened to leave with the children. Captain Gonzales and Deputy Crockett responded to the scene. She was transported to Austin State Hospital.

A concerned citizen reported that she believed she saw a man standing by the door at Brad & Sons. Deputy Ray searched the building perimeter and no one was on the property. He checked on the building throughout the night.

A caller reported to Deputy Ledenbach that someone took his hog trap from his pasture. A report for theft was taken.

January 26, 2013

A complainant on CR 327 reported that his neighbors were shooting guns toward his property. Deputy Ledenbach searched the area but was unable to hear any gunfire.

Deputy Ray, Deputy Crockett and Deputy York responded to a domestic disturbance on CR 306. The caller reported that she got into an argument with her partner. Both parties had calmed down and were separated for the night. An information report was made.

January 27, 2013

Deputy Carvin met with a complainant on CR A in Lexington. The caller reported that her 4 year old son was playing outside and told her that the bad man in the woods was calling his name. Their dog also began barking. The area was searched but no one was found on the property.

A caller reported that she would like a deputy to stand by while she got a few of her belongings from her house. Deputy Ledenbach assisted.

A motorist reported a couple of big bags of trash were on the inside lane of traffic on Hwy 290 East. Deputy Carvin located them and removed them from the roadway.

A complainant called and reported that a lady at the apartments was yelling at her kids and then they got into a fight. Deputy Ledenbach and Deputy Carvin responded to Westwood Villa Apartments. A report was taken and two citations were issued.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a male subject reporting that his wife hit him with their car. He was bleeding from his arm but did not need an ambulance. Deputy York and Deputy Ray met with the subject and took a report. His wife had left the residence. Charges are being filed at this time.
