David Coy Hall

February 2, 1963 - January 24, 2013

A service to celebrate the life of David Hall, 49 of Blue, Texas, was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Blue United Methodist Church in Blue with Pastor Lance Richards officiating. Military Honors will immediately follow.

David Coy Hall was born on February 2, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Charles Edward Hall Sr. & LaVirle Ann (Adkins) Hall. He graduated from Canton High School in 1981 and attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Graceville Baptist College in Graceville, Florida to become a Baptist minister. He served in the U.S. Army from April 4, 1985 until receiving his Honorable Discharge on September 8, 1988 having obtained the rank of Specialist. He was a disabled veteran who battled cancer most of his life. Being an evangelistic preacher, he dedicated his life to preaching God’s Word at a young age. David was a long distance bicyclist who traveled across the country to raise money for mission trips. He was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church and attended the Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale. He enjoyed gold panning and mining.

David passed away unexpectedly the evening of Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home in Blue, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Charles Edward Hall Sr. and his step-father, Carl Tharp.

He is survived by his four children, Corie “Breann” Fortenberry & her husband, Trey of Blue, Autumn Hall of Blue, Kacie Hall of Blue and Jon Hall of Blue; two grandchildren, Stanley Fortenberry IV & Janavalynn Fortenberry both of Blue; his mother, LaVirle Tharp of Blue; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Hall Jr. of Lexington; his sister, Angela Turner & her husband, Garry of Blue; thirteen nieces and nephews; his best hunting buddy, David “Tapper” Calhoun of Mansfield, LA as well as many other friends.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up to help with the final expenses and for the benefit of his four children, Corie 21, Autumn, 20, Kacie 18 and Jon 16 at Round Top State Bank in Lexington, P.O. Box 548, Lexington, Texas 78947.
