When you’ve got a million things to do, it’s nice to know dinner can take care of itself. Your slow cooker is your best friend. Perfect pulled pork will be fall-apart tender, delicious and moist and ready to please your Super Bowl guests.
5 lbs. boneless pork butt shoulder
1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
2-3 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp.cayenne pepper
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt to taste
1 ½ cup chicken broth
Soft sandwich buns
Combine all seasonings in a small bowl and rub evenly over roast. Place meat in a 6-quart slow cooker. Add chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours or until pork is very tender.
Place pork on large cutting board or platter and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Pull, slice or chop to serve.
Serve in buns with barbecue sauce.
Serves 16 to 20 people.
