A 15 year old female, reported as a runaway from Giddings, was spotted by Lexington Police Officer Amador Sandoval on Thursday, January 24, at about 1:05 in the morning.

Officer Sandoval was returning from the Lee County Sheriff’s Department when he saw the juvenile hitchhiking on Highway 77 past the railroad overpass just outside of the Giddings City Limits. When Sandoval stopped and made contact with her, he discovered that she was drinking a beer.

After further investigation, Sandoval learned that she had been reported missing two or three days before. He contacted the Giddings Police Department. Officer Carvin with GPD arrived on the scene and took custody of the runaway.
