A resident on CR 233 called for assistance after she fell and needed help getting up. Deputy Ayres was dispatched and was able to help her up.
Deputy Allen went to the Giddings Auction Barn and took pictures of some cattle that were picked up. The paperwork to estray the cattle was filled out and turned in.
Deputy Ayres assisted with traffic control at the scene of a two vehicle accident on Hwy 21 near FM 141 in Dime Box.
January 15, 2013
A caller reported a house was on fire at the corner of Main Ave and Hwy 21. Deputy Allen assisted at the scene with traffic control. A report was taken.
Washington County reported that a box truck was seen traveling on Hwy 290 East westbound and the cargo door was open. Deputy Rudolph located the truck and advised the driver of the open door.
January 16, 2013
Deputy Rudolph met with a complainant regarding possible animal cruelty at Town & Country Mobile Home Park. Investigation continues at this time.
A motorist reported that a white truck was parked partially on CR 113. Deputy Ayres arrived on scene and the truck owner showed up at the same time and removed the vehicle.
Several motorists reported a donkey out on FM 696 approx one mile west of the FM 112 & FM 696 intersection. Deputy Rudolph removed the animal from the roadway.
A complainant reported that a black dually was pulling an 18 foot goose neck trailer without running lights. Deputy Liles located the truck and the driver was able to fix the tail lights.
January 17, 2013
A motorist reported that he hit a deer on CR 138 and the deer had a broken leg. Deputy Carvin was dispatched to the scene and the animal was put down.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 hang up call from a residence on CR 326 in Lincoln. Dispatch called the number back repeatedly, but only got a busy signal. Chief Deputy Lapham, Deputy Carvin and Deputy Ledenbach checked the area and everything appeared to be ok.
A complainant reported that someone ran over his mailbox on FM 112 in Lexington. Deputy Carvin met with the caller and a report was taken.
Deputy Crockett responded to loud music on CR 223 in Giddings. The area was searched, but the loud music had been turned down or off.
A caller reported that his wife hit a cow that was in the roadway on FM 696 near Sherrill Lane in Lexington. He advised that the cow was injured and may need to be put down. Deputy Ray responded to the scene and had to put the cow down.
Deputy Crockett responded to a domestic disturbance on Hwy 21 West. A complainant reported that her husband pushed her down and then took her car. Both parties gave their side of the story and neither wished to file any charges.
January 18, 2013
A bus driver reported an 18- wheeler was broken down in the middle of FM 180. Deputy Allen searched the area, but reported back that the truck was gone upon arrival.
Deputy Allen was dispatched to a residential burglar alarm on FM 696 West in Lexington. The house and property were searched and appeared to be secure.
A complainant reported that someone cut the lock on her fence. Deputy Allen took a report and a close patrol will be in effect on all shifts.
A resident on CR 327 called in a noise complaint. She advised that her neighbor had a propane cannon that was going off and it was disturbing her sleep. Deputy Liles went to the neighbor’s house, but the cannons were no longer going off.
January 19, 2013
A motorist reported that he was on his way home from work and found a vehicle that hit a tree on CR 309 approx 3 miles north of FM 696 in Lexington. No one was around the vehicle. Deputy Ayres took the information needed for Trooper Weiser to do a crash report.
Deputy Ayres was dispatched to FM 1624 approx 6 miles out of Lexington to put up some cows that were out on the roadway. The owner of the cows was notified.
Deputy Liles and Deputy Rudolph responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of Doozie’s in Dime Box. A caller reported that two males were arguing and one of them pulled out a gun. All parties involved had left the premises before deputies arrived.
January 20, 2013
Giddings State School called and reported that a female employee was down in front of dorm #2 and was bleeding profusely. B&M Ambulance and Deputy Liles responded to the call. Justice of the Peace was also called out. Investigation continues at this time.
A concerned citizen reported that a truck pulled up in their driveway on Hwy 77 and shot 3 times at some deer, and backed out and shot 1 more time down the road. Deputy Rudolph and Game Warden Gonzales responded to the call. The truck was located on CR 220 and citations were issued.
Deputy Allen was dispatched to CR 326 approx ¼ mile from the cemetery. The owner’s name and contact information was given to the deputy.
Child Protective Services called and requested a welfare concern check on CR 125. Deputy Ayres went to the residence, but no one was home at the time. CPS was notified.
A caller reported that someone was crawling through a window of a trailer on FM 2440. Deputy Liles went to the trailer and it was the homeowner. Everything was okay.
