Jarrell Rallies Over Lexington

by Mike Organ

Lexington hustled, shot well, and played outstanding defense against preseason district favorite Jarrell. In the end, the Eagles came up short, succumbing to a late Jarrell rally.

It was an exciting contest from the beginning. The biggest lead of the game was Jarrell’s 10-point advantage at the final buzzer. Jason Washington and Eriq Mitchell provided the offensive fire power, Zach Lay, Cash Flot, and London Jacob on defense gave the offense the ball. It was a team effort against Jarrell.

Lexington was briefly in the lead in the fourth quarter, but missed some crucial put back shots late in the fourth quarter. Jarrell had the same kind of opportunities they cashed in on. Lexington missed a minimum of 10 shots inside of two feet. The shots were contested, but the Eagles needed to finish.

Jason Washington led the Eagles offense with 15 points. Eriq Mitchell was close behind with 13 markers. These two accounted for 28 of Lexington’s 39 points. Mitchell and London Jacob grabbed five rebounds each. Jacob had three offensive rebounds in the loss.
