Jarrell Jolts Lady Eagles 67-39

by Mike Organ

Lexington fought mightily against the state ranked Jarrell Lady Cougars. Jarrell jumped out to an early lead, but Lexington rallied back to tie the score at nine. From that point on, the Lady Cougars took over the ball game. A full court press cost the Lady Eagles the ball and some scores. From there Jarrell used a half court trap to generate some more easy scores in the first half. Jarrell led 39-22 at intermission.

In the early flurry, Christen Schneider dropped a three, Mackenzie Brown made some free throws, and Kristen Boettcher made a deuce. That was about all the Lady Eagles could muster. To their credit, the Lady Eagles did not ever quit trying the entire game.

Brown led Lexington in scoring with 19 points on five twos, a trey, and six free throws. Boettcher hustled and fought for six rebounds.
