Clarence Albert Proske
Funeral services for Clarence Proske, 61 of Giddings, will be held at
2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in
Loebau, Texas, with Rev. Paul Hartfield officiating. Burial will follow
in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January
16, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey
Funeral Home in Giddings.
Clarence Albert Proske was born on February 25, 1951 in Brenham, Texas to Walter Otto & Esther A. (Schroeder) Proske. He was baptized on March 4, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas by Rev. H.A. Stroebel and confirmed on April 11, 1965 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau by Rev. L. Boriack. His confirmation verse was Psalm 37:4, “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”. He remained a member of Christ Lutheran Church until his death.
On August 5, 1972, he was united in marriage to Nora Winkler at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau by Rev. Ewald Recks. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Dyan.
Clarence was a self-employed bricklayer until his health declined. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his dogs and visiting with friends. He passed away the evening of Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Esther Proske; his father-in-law, Erwin Winkler; his nephew, Keith Lynn Bamsch and his brother-in-law, Charles Bamsch.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nora Proske of Giddings; his daughter, Dyan Proske of Giddings; his sister, Lillian Bamsch of Giddings; his motherin law, Bernice Winkler of Giddings; two sisters-in-law, Helen Mitschke and her husband, Edwin of Loebau andAlice Goerlitz and her husband, Ernie of Giddings; brother-in-law, Daniel Winkler of Giddings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Bamsch, Joe Boullion, Brian Mitschke, Dusty Boullion, Jason Mitschke and Scott Mitschke. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Buetow and Alvin Minarcik.
Rather than sending flowers, the family requests that memorials be
made to the Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, 4654 County Road 114,
Lincoln, Texas 78948-6444.
