Helen (Garey) Wood Reynolds
Helen was born in Brady, TX, December 16, 1931 to Andrew Jackson and Frances Samuel Garey. Her early childhood was spent in San Benito, TX and Corpus Christi, TX. Early pre-teen years brought her to Brady to live with her aunts, Lessie, Norma and Alice Samuel, and Grandfather Henry Clay Samuel, where she attended school, graduating from Brady High School. Here she made and enjoyed a lifetime of many close friends. She attended TCU before moving to Houston where she met and married Jack Wood. Together they had three children, Jim Wood and Barbara of Pearland, Jeanie and J.R. Collins of Colorado and Susan and Gary Hacker of Lexington. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and step grandchildren, including Tara Henshaw, Acey Morvan, Daniel and Amanda Collins, Levi and Brice Collins, Michael Foley, Krystal and Nick Gabriel, Matt and Clint Maddox, Maggie and Travis Parobek, Amy and Matt Rocha, and Kelly Hacker, and five great granddaughters. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack Garey of Georgetown and Richard Garey and Arlene of Horseshoe Bay, and 2 nephews, Glenn Garey and Chris Garey and DeAnna, and niece Jaci and Cory McCollum.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; Aunts Lessie, Norma and Alice Samuel; husbands Jack Wood and Ray Reynolds.
Helen, a resident of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away in Bastrop, TX. December 31, 2012, after an extended illness.
