Lexington EMS Announces New Officers
Layne Dussetschleger was elected President, replacing Linda Patschke. Randy Brown was elected Vice President , taking over the responsibilities of Tonya Rhodes, and Joby Reynolds was elected Secretary/Treasurer, replacing Mary Retzloff.
Michael Milburn, who took over as Interim Administrator after the death of Reuel Cooper, was replaced by Joby Reynolds, who will act in the capacity of Administrator.
They also announced that they are organizing a new EMT class, which will begin soon. The class will certify students who complete the course as an EMT-Basic, which will allow them to work on the ambulance.
Reynolds said, “We are needing volunteers to help us in Lexington and we really encourage anyone interested, who will be at least 18 years of age by the end of the course, to sign up. We anticipate that scholarships will be offered, so there may be no cost to the students.”
He continued, “We also want to ask for help from anyone who is already certified as an ECA, EMT or Paramedic. We are needing good people to help us run the ambulance 24/7/365 to continue to serve the citizens of Lexington and Lee County. We currently have two ambulances that serve the needs of our community and hope to continue to provide a level of service our citizens have come to expect. We are proud to be your EMS provider and look forward to serving your needs now and in the future.”
