The Gamma Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, Texas, with 38 members and several guests in attendance.

Gloria McLuckie read the Mission Statement. Annette Balke led members in the pledges and the Collect, and Gail Schroeder gave the meditation.

Trudy Holland, Chair of the Educational Excellence/Program of Work Committee, presented goody bags, which had been made by Gamma Omega members, to the Brenham Children’s Chorus. Jillian Steen, Julie Hamff, and Emily Conner were present to receive the gifts, and Director Pam Young thanked the ladies for their support.

President Mary Keienburg thanked the Hempstead members for serving as hostesses. Members enjoyed participating in Christmas games and singing Christmas songs.

Area Coordinator, Joan Hester, was a guest at the meeting, and brought a special message to members.

President Keienburg presided over the business meeting. The minutes were approved as printed. Members regretfully accepted a request from Beverly Ekarius for her resignation. Linda Pinkerton read the Treasurer’s report, which was approved.

Committee reports included: Achievement awards by Carole Fry and Melanie Crowhurst, Legislative report by Lou Pruett, and World Fellowship report by Grace Holtkamp.

Professional Affairs Chair Sue Wieprecht announced four scholarship winners. Michelle Farrell of Caldwell will receive the Maggie B. Selman Scholarship, Courtney Krueger of Burton and Erin Lischka of Bellville will both receive Dorothy Louise Lehrmann scholarships, and Carilyn Muzny of Caldwell will receive the Edna Marie Hamner Scholarship. Money from Operation Lend-a- Hand will be given to SAAM, the Somerville Area Alliance Ministries. At the February meeting, members will share their loose change for the Schools for Africa Donation.

Laurie Pawlak won the Door Prize donated by Gloria McLuckie, and Carole Fry won the Perfect Attendance prize donated by Jackie Romine. The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. on February 2, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, with the Waller members serving as hostesses.

The member attending from Lee County was Trudy Holland.
