January 7, 2013
All good things must come to an end and I’m no different. After 26 ½ years of being a Texas Game Warden, I’ve decided to retire and spend time with family and friends. My last working day is January 25th and I’ll be on extended leave until my retirement date of March 1st.
District wardens will be taking calls and filing cases until someone transfers in or a cadet is assigned later in the summer. I can’t guarantee someone will take my old phone number, but I will seek clarification as to who will take and respond to calls.
I would like to thank all the citizens and landowners of Lee County for making my tenure as your game warden one I will always remember. Without your help, we could not have been as successful as we were. To those of you that befriended me, I look forward to our friendship outside the badge.
Lee County has always been my home; born and raised, so I’m not going anywhere. If anything, I hope to see you at the next church, school or community function. I look forward to serving my community in whatever capacity afforded. And another thing, I’m calling in all those fishing and hunting markers that have often passed me by!
I will be in my office (2nd floor courthouse) all day on Wednesday, January 16th, packing up. For those interested in stopping by or calling (979-542-2526), I will be glad to visit with you.
