LCRA Board Appoints New Members to Regional Council

The LCRA Board of Directors has appointed new members to the LCRA Mid-Basin Regional Council for terms beginning Jan. 1. The Mid-Basin includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Comal, Dewitt, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Lavaca and Lee counties.

The Mid-Basin Regional Council and three other councils from throughout the lower Colorado River basin provide important communication links between the Lower Colorado River Authority and the communities it serves.

The councils meet several times a year to discuss regional topics involving LCRA. Members pass along information to their local communities, and play key roles in providing feedback to LCRA.

The councils focus on regional issues related to LCRA’s mission to provide reliable, cost-effective electric, water and other public services of value and to be a responsible steward of the river and the basin’s natural resources. Combined, 120 people hold positions on the four councils. The appointees choose to serve two- or four-year terms.

Appointees to the LCRA Mid- Basin Regional Council from Lee County are Denice Harlan, Mark Johnson and Giddings Mayor Pro- Tem Fred Jones (Giddings).
