Clarence “Buddy” Raymond Urban
Buddy was born on June 25, 1943 in La Grange, Texas to Clarence and Martha Ann Marie (Hannes) Urban. He served in the United States Navy for four years where he trained in the medical hospital in West Virginia and was standby to deploy during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. He was blessed with two children, Rebecca and Russell.
He enjoyed his work as a home remodeling contractor, fishing and especially driving his boat, hunting, watching the Houston Texans and Aggie football, making sausage, as well as visiting with family and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren and was an excellent father.
Buddy suffered a massive stroke on October 24, 2010 and was confined to his wheelchair. He passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his home in Missouri City, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Martha Urban, his grandparents Hugo and Alma (Domann) Urban and Emil and Martha (Gloyna) Hannes. Survivors include his companion and friend, Lovie Jones of Missouri City; children, Rebecca and Gary Dieter of Pennsylvania and Russell Urban of Giddings; grandchildren, Alexis Crow of Giddings, Jarrett Urban of Giddings, and Jace Dieter of Pennsylvania; sister, Linda and David Lehmann of Warda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved family and friends.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Rev. Jeremy Walloch officiating. Burial followed at the Giddings City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nathan Schneider, Joseph Ramsey, Roy Brewer, Jarrett Urban, Nolan Lerche and Deelyn Michalk.
Honorary pallbearer wree Melvin McCormick.
