Gunshot Shatters Store Window
Officer Vivas of the Lexington Police Department was on patrol on December 23 when he heard a gunshot come from the CEFCO Store located on Hwy. 77. Upon arrival, Vivas observed that one of the large front windows was shattered. A vehicle, which was parked in front of the window, was attempting to leave. Vivas stopped the vehicle and, after an investigation, determined there was an accidental discharge from a gun in the vehicle, which resulted in the window being shattered by ricocheting shotgun pellets off the pavement. No one was injured in the incident.
The officer conducted a check on all the subjects in the vehicle, which showed that one of the occupants, Joshua Schneider, had a warrant out of Williamson County for Probation Violation. Schneider was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.
Deputy Skinner with the Lee County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
