LISD Board Holds Public Hearing
The Lexington ISD Board of Trustees held a special called meeting and their regular meeting on Monday, December 17, 2012.
The special meeting was a public hearing for Dr. McArthur to present the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) and answer any questions from the public. The report included TAKS information, attendance rate, dropout rate, high school completion rate and college readiness indicators for the 2011- 2012 school year. School districts in Texas are maintaining the same rating as last year as they transition into the new State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) and End of Course (EOC) System. STAAR and EOC results are not a part of the AEIS report this year. Lexington ISD is a State of Texas Recognized district based on last year’s results.
The regular meeting was held immediately following the called meeting. The board minutes of the previous meetings, financial report, and budget amendment were approved.
Cory Albright with Singleton, Clark, and Company, PC presented the annual financial and compliance report for year ending August 31, 2012. He reported that LISD has a healthy fund balance, and that there were no weaknesses found in LISD’s internal controls.

The District and Campus Improvement Plans were approved.
Approval of architectural and engineering design for the library project will be placed on the January agenda due to the vote being 3-3, with one board member being absent.
