Former Teacher to be Sentenced
Former Lexington Middle School teacher and Pflugerville resident, Holly Lopez, is expected to be sentenced on Friday, December 7, in the 390th District Court of Travis County located in the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center on West 11th Street in Austin. Lopez is being sentenced for two charges – one aggravated sexual assault and the other aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The charges stem from an incident where, on or about February 28, 2012, Lexington ISD Police Chief David Mohr had received an outcry statement from one of two male victims, ages 13 and 14. The victim requested Mohr’s assistance in stopping Lopez from texting him repeatedly.
The Pflugerville Police Department was informed of the situation and their investigation revealed that on February 11, 2012, Lopez contacted one of the victims via text message. She then drove to a residence in Pflugerville where both victims were staying. Lopez arrived with condoms and engaged both victims in sexual intercourse.
During the course of the investigation, approximately 1100 text messages were also documented that detailed conversations between Lopez and the victim, before and after the incident.
Lopez was arrested on March 14, 2012 and booked into the Travis County Jail. Friday’s sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m.
