GIDDINGS LIBRARY NEWS CORNER

By Judy Belyeu

Stop by the Giddings Public Library and check out our new large print books and CD’s.

Left For Dead (CD also) by J. A. Jance features Santa Cruz County deputy sheriff Jose Reyes, who is Ali Reynolds’ classmate from the Arizona Police Academy. He is gunned down and left to die. The crime scene investigation shows there’s more to it, and Reyes and his pregnant wife both fall under suspicion of wrongdoing. Kill Shot (CD also) by Vince Flynn is about Mitch Rapp who is on a mission to hunt down the men responsible for the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter becomes increasingly clear. In his search, he is left wounded and must flee for his life. Stolen Prey (CD also) by John Sanford features Lucas Davenport. He has seen many terrible murder scenes, but this one is the worst. An entire family has been killed. On the wall written in blood is: “We’re coming.” The scene looks an awful lot like the kind of scorched-earth retribution Lucas has seen from Mexican drug gangs.

Devious (CD also) by Lisa Jackson is an eerie story about nuns who are being brutally slaughtered by someone who seems to know their darkest secrets. Even though detectives Bentz and Montoya are sure that Father Frank is their man, there are other suspects, including a killer thought to be dead. Has the monstrous Father John returned? Or is the truth even more twisted and terrifying?

We have several other new books (in CD also): The Janson Command by Paul Garrison; Agent 6 by Tom Rob Smith; The Unseen by Heather Graham; Gypped by Carol Higgins Clark; Down The Darkest Road by Tami Hoag; Dorchester Terrace by Anne Perry and Catch Me by Lisa Gardner.
