Commissioners’ Court Lets Bids
At the regular meeting of the Lee County Commissioners’ Court held on Monday, November 26, 2012, the Court awarded bids previously accepted for gravel and paving topping rock, excluding any bids for transportation of these materials. All bids were accepted, allowing each Commissioner to use the most advantageous source for the material at the time of need.
The Court also approved a new County Expenditure Policy concerning the time period between when an elected county official is still in office, but has announced his/her intention to leave office, or when he/she has not been renominated or reelected.
The expenditure limit was set in certain categories to 25% of the budgeted amount without having to obtain Court approval. The point of this policy is to permit the leaving official to continue to do his job throughout his term, while at the same time reserving budgeted funds for the incoming official.
The Court also accepted the resignation of Alan Roberts from the Lee County Airport Board and selected Mike Siegler as his replacement.
