Three Sentenced in District Court

Three people, all from Giddings, were sentenced in the 21st Judicial District Court of Lee County on Thursday, November 8, 2012, for charges ranging from assault of a public official to burglary of a habitation. The Honorable Terry Flenniken presided over the hearings.

Malik Shakir Woods, 17 of the Texas Youth Commission in Giddings, was sentenced to 38 months confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for assault on a public servant. Woods was ordered to pay $304 in court costs, a $400 court appointed attorney fee, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, and a $34 DNA testing fee.

Jose Alberto Cisneros, 30 of Giddings, was sentenced to two years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for burglary of a habitation. He too was ordered to pay $304 in court costs, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, and a $34 DNA testing fee.

Rosie Lee Sims, 61 of Giddings, was given three years probation for theft ($1500-$20,000; contractual relationship with government). She was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus $304 in court costs, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, and a $34 DNA testing fee. She was also ordered to pay $8,217 in restitution.
