Eagles Finish with Schulenburg
Lexington will entertain Schulenburg in the final home game of the season. The Shorthorns are 3-2 in district with wins over Randolph, Jarrell, and Johnson City. Their two losses were to Blanco 22-21 and to Rogers 76-69 in overtime.
The Horns are very effective offensively, led by quarterback Ross Bludau, the head coach’s son. The Horns were an area finalist last season, but barring a miracle in Johnson City Friday night, will not make the playoffs this season. The horns have scored 69, 55, and 42 in district games this season.
The Horns are 6-3 going into a game that is being played strictly for pride. Schulenburg is basically out of the playoffs and Lexington will be the #1 seed from District 14AA-DII.
Friday night will be Parents’ Night, as the players and school honor the parents of the athletes and cheerleaders. The parents will be recognized at 7 p.m. before the ballgame.
