Giddings Library News Corner

by Judy Belyeu

The Giddings Public Library has a nice selection of fiction books by some of our favorite authors. The 9th Judgement by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro finds detective Lindsay Boxer and her partner Rich chasing a jewel thief, a murderous movie star, and a killer with a vendetta against women and children.

The 11th Hour by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro (in CD also), is about a pregnant detective, Lindsay Boxer, and her investigation and discovery of severed heads in a movie star’s garden. Lindsay is horrified to realize that the killer could be among her closest friends.

The Wind Through The Keyhole by Stephen King returns to the rich landscape of Mid-World, the spectacular territory of the DarkTower fantasy saga that stands as his most beguiling achievement.

All The Pretty Hearses by Mary Dahem is a bed-and-breakfast mystery. Amateur sleuth, Judith McMonigle Flynn’s husband, Joe, is accused of murdering an insurance fraud suspect. Judith must try to prove his innocence while dealing with unbearable guests, parish issues, and her mother.

Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris is another Sookie Stackhouse novel. Sookie is a telepathic waitress who investigates the body of a woman discovered in vampire Eric Northman’s yard.

Star Wars: Choices of One by Timothy Zahn is a brand new Star Wars adventure. It features Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbaca. They head to Candoras Sector to punish Ferrouz’s treason and smash the Rebels for good.

Be sure and look at the following books as they provide an interesting read also: Portrait Of A Spy by Daniel Silva; Black Diamond by Martin Walker; Acceptable Loss by Anne Perry and Death Of Kings by Barnard Cornwell.
