Four Car Pile Up

A four-car pile-up left several people shaken, but none seriously hurt.

On Friday morning, October 26, at 8:41, four cars, all driven by 17- year olds, with the exception of one, who was 16, were traveling north in the 900 block of Main Street (Hwy. 77) in Giddings, in succession of each other.

A 2008 Ford Escape stopped, as the traffic in front of her had also stopped. A 2005 Toyota Tacoma was stopped behind her, when the third vehicle, a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck failed to control her speed and hit the Toyota, pushing the Toyota into the rear bumper of the Ford. Then, the fourth vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, hit the GMC.

Two of the drivers had passengers, all of whom were minors.

According to the police report, filed by Giddings Police Officer Farah Ramsey, no charges were filed at the time.
