Feral Hog Workshop

The Plum Creek Watershed Partnership, in cooperation with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is pleased to announce a Feral Hog workshop to be held at the Hays County Extension Office in San Marcos on October 30 at 6:00pm. Supper will be provided and participants will be credited 3 CEUs for the event. Topics discussed will include the History and Biology of Feral Hogs, Control Techniques, Laws and Regulations, and the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Hog Out County Grant Program. Cost for the event is $20 and must be prepaid at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office — Hays County by October 26.

The doors will open at 5pm and volunteers will be on hand to issue a $2 per tail bounty for feral hogs harvested in Hays County after October 1st. In addition, participants will be given one entry per tail for a prize drawing to be held in January. For the individual with the most verified hogs taken in Hays County from October 1 through December 31, Cabela’s will be offering a Grand Prize. The Maurader Hog Light by Hawglite is a bow-mounted light system that can be adapted to a rifle scope, gun barrel or an AR style of picantinny rail. The light retails for $129.99.
