Eagles to the Alamo!
In the UIL’s infinite wisdom, they assigned Universal City Randolph into Lexington’s district for the next two years. The Eagles will travel to the northern outskirts of San Antonio for a first time match up of the two schools’ football teams.
The RoHawks are having an uneventful year thus far failing to win but once in seven tries. They have lost to Luling, Karnes City, Shiner, Rogers, Schulenburg, and Jarrell. The RoHawks beat San Antonio Cole 20-0 for their only win of the season.
UCR operates from the Winged T offense. They have seven speedy ball carriers to run the offense. An all-District running back Damani Phillips is the top returnee. He was also an all-district linebacker last season. UCR teams can change dramatically depending on deployment of family service members.
From the Randolph website, the following are two sets of directions to the UCR Stadium:
Off of I-35: Exit on Loop 1604 South: If coming from the north, be advised this is a clover leaf turn. On Loop 1604 move to the left lane. Just past the CONVERSE-RAFB/ FM 78 exit you will see our stadium. Cross the median into the High School gate.
Coming from the east on I-10: Exit Loop 1604 West, stay on Loop 1604, the base gate for the High School is located on your right in front of the school just before the CONVERSE-RAFB/FM 78 exit.
