Sport Thoughts

Texas and A&M both played exciting games Saturday night with different results. A&M won their game with a beautiful late touchdown pass from Johnny Manziel to Ryan Swope. Texas had a chance to win, but could not make the offensive play when needed. If your “defense” gives up 48 points, you are not going to win many times.

The Lady Eagles stumbled only once in district play so far. They have an important match with Rogers Tuesday. The Saturday match with Academy is big also. They might secure a playoff spot with two wins, if everything falls a certain way.

The Cowboys better get their act together against Baltimore or things might be in the tank before the season really gets going. Tony Romo’s five interceptions could be a harbinger of things to come. If the Cowboys go 4-12, look for Romo to be no mo.

The Texans are trying to take the state away from the Cowboys with their hot start. They may be successful if they continue to be unbeaten Monday night.

Drew Brees just broke Johnny Unitas’ record for 48 consecutive games with a touchdown pass. That is all the announcers could talk about. What about the ‘team’? The Saints are 0-4 for the season.
