Lexington Man Given Six Years

A Lexington man was sentenced to six years in prison for indecency with a child. He was one of six people sentenced in the 21st District Court of Lee County, the Honorable Reva Towslee-Corbet presiding.

David James House, 21 of Lexington, was sentenced to six years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for indecency with a child – exposure. He was ordered to pay $304 in court costs, $50 for a Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, $34 DNA Testing fee, $100 Child Abuse Prevention Fund, $100 Family Violence Fund and register as a sex offender.

Davon Andrew Thomas, 18 of TYC in Giddings, was sentenced to five years in the TDCJ state jail facility for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. He was ordered to pay a total of $788 in court costs, and fees.

John Lester Zapalac, 44 of West Point, Texas, was sentenced to five years in the TDCJ, probated five years, for driving while intoxicated – subsequent. Zapalac was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine plus $563 in court costs and fees. He was ordered to perform 250 hours of community service, have an interlock device installed in his car or any other car he may drive, and he was ordered to successfully complete the intermediate sanctions facility program as a condition of his probation. He was also ordered to spend 30 days confined in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center as a condition of his probation.

Eric Dewayne Wells, 32 of Giddings, was sentenced to two years in the TDCJ state jail facility, probated four years, for forgery. Wells was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus $788 in court costs and fees, and a $1,441.86 restitution fee. The judge also ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service restitution.

Ron Regus Showels, 50 of Giddings, was sentenced to two years confinement in the TDCJ state jail facility, probated two years, for theft, less than $1,500 with two or more previous convictions. He was ordered to pay a total of $1,545 in court costs, fees, fines and restitution. He was also ordered to perform 250 hours of community service restitution.

Simon Arthur Cardenas, 17 of Lexington, was sentenced for two convictions. One was for theft - $50 to $500, and the other was for burglary of a building. In the first, he was sentenced to 30 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center. In the second he was given four years probation and ordered to pay a total of $1,936.71 in court costs, fees and restitution. He was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service restitution and given “Zero Tolerance” as to any violation as a condition of his probation.
