The 6th Annual Pink Ribbon Affair
The 6th Annual Pink Ribbon Affair will be held to benefit Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center and Combined Community Action, to help cancer survivors and their families and to educate youth about cancer prevention in Lee and surrounding counties. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this event will be held on Tuesday, October 9th. It will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Giddings American Legion Hall on Highway 77 South. The event is open to the general public and will celebrate the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors.
An art bra contest and display will be held, in addition to musical entertainment by Purly Gates and special presentations by survivors and others. A candle light ceremony will honor those with breast cancer and remember those who have lost their battle with cancer. Live and silent auction items will be available for bidding. Admission to the event is a freewill monetary donation to LCACRC. The evening will also include drawings for door prizes, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
