Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

The Lady Eagles volleyball is going great. By the end of the week, they could be in first place, alone. The team chemistry seems good. The players like each other off the court and hang around together.

The Eagles looked pretty good against Franklin. There are still some things to work on before we get into the competitive part of district play. (BTW, check out the Leader’s Facebook page after 11 p.m. Friday night for scores of the other teams in the District.)

The Cowboys stunk it up in Seattle. Tony Romo may be Tony Nomo if he can’t get consistent in his performances.

The Texans look to be real Super Bowl prospects early in the season. If they can avoid injuries like last year’s, they could easily make it to the ultimate game for this year.

Texas looked better against Ole Miss than I thought they would, but they are still not a top ten team.

The Aggies looked really good in dusting SMU. Tommy Manziel looks to be the real thing at QB.

Texas recruited Manziel as a defensive back as they did RGIII. You wonder who does their QB evaluation. Is the same person deciding between David Ash and Case McCoy?
