Remain Undefeated in District

Johna Alford with a kill against Rogers. Johna Alford with a kill against Rogers. The Lady Eagle volleyballers defeated Rogers in four games Friday to remain undefeated in District 22-AA action. Lexington won games 1, 3, and 4. The winning margins were:25-19, 25-16 and 25-16. Rogers won game 2 by the score of 18-25. The win keeps Lexington at least tied for first place with Salado. Lexington faced Academy on Tuesday night and has the first of two showdowns with Salado in Lexington Friday. Lexington can not take any opponent lightly. Every game must be a fight for life after district.

Coach Player said, “Rogers is a very good team. We went into the game expecting nothing less than their best. We were prepared for the different possibilities they could send our way. It was a hard fought game from both sides of the court. This was an exciting win for our team! Hopefully, it will give us the momentum we need to carry us through our next several district games.”

The stats for the game follow: Johna Alford- 12 kills, 14 digs, 7 blocks; Madeline Morton- 3 kills, 1 block; Madi Bexley- 13 digs, 1 ace; Karsen Ross- 4 kills, 31 assists, 7 digs, 5 blocks, 1 ace; Karley Wren- 8 kills, 1 assist, 14 digs, 2 blocks, 3 aces; Aleece Moerbe- 10 kills, 1 assist, 8 digs, 4 blocks, 1 ace; and Meghann Wrinkle- 2 kills, 6 digs, 4 blocks.

The Eagle JV lost in two games 25-27 and 23-25.

The Lexington Freshmen lost in three games: 7-25, 27-25, 23-25.
