Commissioners’ Court

Commissioners’ Court 9-10-2012 The Lee County Commissioners’ Court meeting on Monday, September 10, 2012 dealt primarily with routine items and approvals of Election Judges and locations. The Court approved the Contract for Collection Services for other County entities, such as School Districts, Cities of Giddings and Lexington, and other Governmental bodies. The Court also approved a proposal from Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. for Project close-out for the Structural Balcony Framing Repairs at the Courthouse. The Commissioners also approved setting the 2013 Sheriff’s and Constables’ fees. The fees for the coming year remain the same as for this year. The Court also approved the Preliminary Appraisal District Budget. This proposed Budget is published elsewhere in the Leader. In other action, the Court approved a Certification of Governmental Entity Participation for an 1115 Demonstration Waver Program. This program, over the next four years, will help the County with Indigent Health Care costs and possibly aid the County in securing additional Specialty Physicians’ Services. Concerning the upcoming General Election, the Court approved the list of Election Judges and Alternate Judges, as well as the Early Voting locations, and approved the Polling Places for the November 6 General Election. These will be published at a later time as the Election gets closer. Even though the Fire Index is at 660, well past the danger level of 550, the Court took no action to impose a Burn Ban. All the Commissioners urge all residents to be extremely careful, especially when the wind is high.
