I had a strange thing happen Friday night. I called in the score and stats to the Austin American Statesman, as I have for most of the last 30 years. An assistant sports editor said “We don’t need your information this year, we are only covering the teams in the fivecounty metro area.” Lexington information will not be printed unless we are playing Jarrell. If you buy a Saturday paper to get local scores you should buy the Bryan-College Station Eagle.
The Eagles played very well against a very good Cameron team last Friday. They played evenly until the Yoe depth came into play. Expect both teams to go very deep in the playoffs.
New coach, same results. The Aggies lost a nice lead in the second half, the same story as last year. Maybe they should offer a course at A&M titled “How to Play the 2nd Half”. I wonder though, who would teach it?
The Aggies did look very good in the first half. The new quarterback, Manziel, was way above expectations and the defense was pounding the Florida offense until………….
Texas was ho-hum in its win over New Mexico. The Horns better get some wins against the patsies on their schedule because Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and TCU will be a different story.
