Lady Eagles Cap Cameron

by Mike Organ

Lexington won their first district volleyball game with a three game sweep of Cameron Friday afternoon. The Lady Eagles won 25-19, 25-21, and 25-18. The two teams played a very spirited match in front of a large crowd in the APK Center.

Coach Player said, “The Cameron win was a good one for us. The start of district always starts a whole different level of pressure for any team. We started our games out a little nervous, but by the end, we looked more comfortable and were able to do what we do best! I always tell the girls to play their game and have fun. Hopefully we can keep this in mind throughout district so that we can achieve our goal of making playoffs. It sure feels good to say we are 1-0 in district!”

The stats for the Cameron game are: Johna Alford- 12 kills, 5 digs, 2 blocks; Madeline Morton- 1 kill, 1 block; Madi Bexley- 6 digs, 2 aces; Karsen Ross- 23 assists, 5 digs, 1 block, 1 ace; Karley Wren- 5 kills, 1 assist, 5 digs, 1 block, 3 aces; Aleece Moerbe- 10 kills, 1 assist, 3 digs, 1 block; and Meghann Wrinkle- 2 assists, 2 digs, 1 block, 1 ace.
