Seven Sentenced

Seven people were sentenced in District Court last week. Six were sentenced on Thursday, August 23, with the Honorable Reva Towlsee-Corbett presiding, while one was sentenced on Friday, August 24 by visiting Judge Dan R. Beck presiding.

Nicholas Dwayne Rogers, 26 of Giddings, was sentenced on two separate charges, the first for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. On this charge, he was sentenced to three years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and ordered to pay a total of $754 in court costs and fees. In the second charge, which was for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance – Alprazolam, 4 to 200 grams, he was sentenced to 270 days confinement in the TDCJ state jail facility and ordered to pay a total of $788 in court costs and fees. He was also ordered to pay $140 restitution.

Jeremy Alfredo Green, 25 of Round Rock, was sentenced for theft, $500 to $1,500, and engaging in organized criminal activity. He was sentenced to 300 days confinement in the TDCJ state jail facility and ordered to pay a total of $788 in court costs and fees.

Luis Antonio Hernandez, 21 of Giddings, was sentenced to 365 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center for deadly conduct. He was ordered to pay a total of $788 in court costs and fees.

Destiny Nicole Roberson, 23 of Dime Box, was placed on probation for the remainder of a 10 year sentence after confinement in the TDCJ, for aggravated assault causing bodily injury. She was ordered to pay a total of $1,788 in fines, court costs and fees. She was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service restitution.

Gregory Alan Cummings, 26 of Cameron, was sentenced to 18 months probation for criminal trespass of a habitation. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus $388 in court costs and fees. He was also ordered to perform 40 hours community service restitution and to forfeit his Texas Commission on Law Enforcement License.

Cleotilde Almendariz Cardenas, 28 of Giddings, was sentenced to three years confinement in the TDCJ, probated three years, for driving while intoxicated, subsequent. He was ordered to pay $2,563 in fines, court costs and fees. He was also ordered to successfully complete a DWI and Victim Impact Panel Program, as well as the Intermediate Sanctions Facility Program as a condition of his probation. His driver’s license was also suspended for one year.

Jose Angel Limon, Jr., 21 of Giddings, was found guilty of sexual assault of a child. For that, he was sentenced to three years confinement in the TDCJ state jail facility and ordered to pay a total of $788 in court costs and fees. He must also register as a sex offender.
