Country Music Monday
Talented musicians from a broad scope of Texas will take the stage at the new Giddings High School with Country Music Monday on September 3rd, at 7:30 P.M. Performers are Kristi Lynn Pruett from Rockdale, Art and Lisa Crawford from Bandera, Lisa Beck from Bandera, Bill Spiegel from Lockhart, and Kimberlyn Kause from our own Lee County.
It was a Sunday afternoon… downstairs in the coolness of Arkey Blue Silver Dollar in Bandera, Texas. Art was not really playing much music at the time, but had decided to join in the weekly jam session and relax a bit. Then it happened. This girl walked up and said “Hey, do you know ‘You’re the reason God Made Oklahoma’?” That was the beginning of Art and Lisa. Through the years with interesting turns of events, sounds and music filled his life and today he is a regular performer coming to the Country Music stage in Giddings.
Lisa Beck had a passion for music early in her life listening to harmonies from her mother and aunt who had performed with a girls quartet. At fifteen her uncle gave her a classical guitar and taught her the basics of guitar playing. Marriage took her to Atlanta, where she played with a country band for twelve years. Divorce and a fresh start took her back to Texas and to Bandera where she continues her love for Country music.
Kristi Lynn Pruett, a young blossoming star from Rockdale, has been singing all over Texas and tells us that, with the support of family and the blessings of the good Lord, she is going where He leads her.
Bill Spiegel, Kimberlyn Krause, along with Ken Brothers and the regular Country Music Monday Band will be there too.
The Rotary Club of Giddings has sponsored Country Music Monday for almost twenty years and continues to bring to Lee County great programs every first Monday in the month. The program is in the Cafetorium of the new Giddings High School on Highway 77 North of Giddings. Admission is $5.00 with food and assisted parking available.
