Meet the Eagles a Gigantic Success

by Mike Organ

The annual “Meet the Eagles” night sponsored by the Lexington Athletic Association was a huge success last Thursday night. There was a crowd estimated to be near 500 parents and supporters on hand to meet the new coaches, learn rules, and enjoy a good hamburger.

The neatest thing was that every member of the band, every member of the cross country teams, the volleyball teams, cheerleaders, and the football players got to come through the “Eagle Tunnel,” as they were introduced to the crowd. The enthusiasm was very high for all the youngsters, as they were presented.

As a sign of the times, Athletic Director Jason Holcomb covered the Lexington ISD drug testing policy for the parents and extracurricular students. A copy of the policy is on file at the school for those not receiving one.

A hardworking core of volunteers led by Chad Garrett, David Meyer, Tim Jones, Karen Wren, Kelly Meyer, and others made the event a huge success.
