Sports Thoughts……

by Mike Organ

Usain Bolt is something, defeating the fastest the rest of the world has to offer. The USA Olympians are doing a good job of representing the red, white, and blue.

The Rangers are getting a little short in the pitching department. They had two pitchers win games this week by the scores of 13-11 and 15-8. Those are more like little league scores.

The Astros continue to back pedal. They have only won three times since the All-Star game. They are a minor league team playing in the big league. Seats will be real cheap by the end of the season. You might even get paid to go to a game.

The Eagles’ schedule is one of the toughest, if not the toughest, in 2A this year. They get to scrimmage Caldwell and Marlin, two teams with a good athletic history.

I hope the volleyball girls will be able to rally around the new coach. It will be their third system in three years. Quality will show no matter what. Gone is last year’s champ, Lago Vista, and Thorndale, but Salado and Rosebud-Lott are very capable replacements.
