The Lee County Go Texan Horseshoe and Washer Tournament at Fedor Fish Fry

The Lee County Go Texan committee will be holding a horseshoe and washer tournament in conjunction with the Fedor Fish Fry on August 25, 2012. There will be two separate competitions for each contest – a county and an open category. The winners of the county competition in horseshoes and washers will qualify to compete at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Area Go Texan contest to be held in January 2013. In order to compete in the county competition, the contestants must be residents of Lee County. The open categories are open to anyone from Lee and other counties.

First and second place winners of each competition will receive trophies donated by Mike Hopkins Distributing of Brenham, Texas. The open contest winners will also receive prize money based on the number of entrants. Anyone wishing to participate needs to be at the horseshoe/washer pits no later than 11:45 on August 25th to sign up. The first competition will start at 12:00 pm. The Lee County team of Glen Albrecht and Kyle Kasper are the reigning champions the past two consecutive years at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Area Go Texan Contests.
